one - [video] - i'm stronger than all of this

[The screen clicks on and Andrew appears, his face extremely pale except for the reddish patches of scabs and scarring on the right side of his face. There's remnants of blood below his nose and on his chin, like he just had a nosebleed and didn't wipe it off completely. Which is exactly what happened. He speaks quietly but his tone hints at both fear and anger.]

What is this, huh? What did you do to me? I can't-- [He interrupts himself with a more frantic note in his tone] Is this some kind of, of joke?

[His voice gets flatter.] I shouldn't be here. I'm stronger.

[The journal starts to shake, the picture jittering slightly. Then Andrew's nose starts to bleed again and the shaking stops, position slightly changed, now angled to give a shot of a messy bedroom behind Andrew's shoulder. His face is mostly off screen now but you can see his hands held up to his nose before the feed shuts off]

Hey man. You all right?

[So many people being concerned and civil to him, what is the world]

Yeah, I guess. I mean, I'm dead, right? And stuck in some kinda spaceship of the damned but I'm-- I'm okay.

Uh, well? I mean you're not dead here. Not now anyway. Were you before?

No? [That seems like a weird question to him.] And like, I don't feel dead now or anything, I just mean... at home. I was killed. I died.

Oh, uh, no I mean. Back home. You were dead back home before you were here. [He grimaces a little.] I'm sorry.

You sort look like you might need to see a doctor though?

No, it's-- My power is all screwed up here. They won't-- I mean, they probably wouldn't be able to do anything about it anyway.

Yeah, I think -- I think that happens for people sometimes when they get here. But like, you've got blood on you? Are you sure you don't need some help?

No, I've already-- This girl, Lydia, she said she's going to take me to the infirmary or whatever. [He doesn't sound totally happy about this, but there it is.]

Oh.

[He smiles at that and nods a little.]

Then you're in good hands, man. Lydia's great.

[Andrew's got problems with the fact that a girl is even talking to him, let alone being nice and concerned about him. He totally doesn't trust it.]

You, uh, you know her?

[Stiles nods again. He used to be surprised when girls talked to him, too. Especially when they happened to be very pretty girls. He's not nervous around Lydia anymore, though. He knows her now, trusts her.]

Yeah, she's one of my closest friends.

Girls don't really-- [But no, he's not going to get into that. It wasn't just girls, anyway.]

You must've known her for a while, right? Is she always so... [Pushy? Stubborn? Something else? He shrugs instead of finishing the sentence.]

[Stiles pauses at that for a second, then offers him a small, reassuring smile.]

Yeah, I get it, believe me.

Determined? Yeah, pretty much.

It's weird.

[He more means the normal conversations with everyone rather than Lydia's determination specifically, but making things clear as a teen boy is harrrrrd.]

[Yep, that's something else Stiles is familiar with. His form of communication usually involves a lot of ranting and babbling. Or at least it used to. Still. He gives it a shot.]

A person you just met caring about what's going on with you, you mean?

Just, none of you know anything about me. Everyone's all worried and-- I don't get it. Why does anyone even care? Why do you even give a shit?

A lot of people care because they've been where you are. Others are just...empathetic, I guess?

Were you? Where I am when you first got here?

[He pauses, then shakes his head a little.]

Not exactly, no. I wasn't in the best physical shape when I arrived, though.

So... what happened?

I pretty much had my ass kicked by a demon, basically. [It's close enough to the truth, anyway. He doesn't use the word possession this time.]

A demon?

Yeah. Lot of weird stuff in my world. [He tries to smile but doesn't quite manage it this time.]

Jesus. No shit.

So you're like... You're a warden here?

Yeah. I haven't been assigned to anybody yet or anything though.
