five - [voice] - gift list
Dec. 25th, 2014 09:41 pmYou're way too creepily into this holiday stuff. I haven't believed in Santa since I was, like, six. Forcing people to write to you like you were him is just weird.
... Fine. [His enthusiasm for this is hitting negative; he starts off with the couple of people he doesn't care quite so much about but who still make the grade for gifts, because it's more difficult to think of things to give when it's someone who he actually cares about. He loosens up and gets more emotional as he continues, without really realising he's doing it.]
Give Eugene a kid's encyclopaedia of supernatural creatures. Get Cassel some new gloves or something, if he needs them. Uh, get Stiles some new video games and comics he doesn't have already, and then get Scott like, a couple movies or TV shows that neither of them have seen? So they can watch them together.
Would it be weird to give Jean some X-Men comics? Maybe just give her books instead. Uh, but I don't know what she likes to read, so just-- Some she'll get into, novels or non-fiction or whatever. If you can do that.
Get Lydia a pile of reference books about the supernatural that she hasn't read. Make sure there's some specific to her world so they're actually useful if she ever goes home. And a couple of them should be about banshees, like all the folk stories and stuff. I bet there's collections of them or whatever. She could use them, probably.
Give Anya her favorite type of cookies, freshly made. And, uh. A souvenir from Paris. A keychain, or a snowglobe. Both, maybe, with different landmarks for each one.
And I want Abigail to have something, but I don't-- Maybe like, uh... I don't know. Something that's going to make her not feel so alone. Or not so scared. But I don't know what would do that. So just-- Get her some chocolate or candy.
I don't know if this works for people not on the ship, but-- Needy, she's in Beacon Hills now, right? It kind of seems like the town is messed up. Y'know, like it's full of messed up stuff. So, um. Some kind of protection for her, like increasing her powers or something, if you can do that when the person isn't actually on the Barge under your control or whatever? And I want her to have books about the supernatural stuff there whether you can do the power thing or not, all about the werewolves and whatever else there is there.
Um. [He goes silent for a long time, dead air but the connection still open. Finally, he continues, voice a little faster and a little thicker.] And if Mikhail's still even alive-- If he still even exists or whatever, there's, uh. There's clips of us, footage I shot. Working maintenance, getting lunch, just... hanging out. Um. And I cut some of it together. But I want him to have a copy of all of it, even the stuff I didn't edit. And some way to play it, like a cellphone or-- I don't know. Something. Or just...
[Make it so he's safe, he wants to say. Part of him wants to ask if the Admiral can bring Steve back to life, too, maybe give Matt some message, but he can't bring himself to do it because he's worried it won't work. There's another silence and when he finally speaks again, it's bitter.]
Happy? Can I stop now?
